Diversion & Recyling
Green Waste of Tehama is proud to serve commercial buildings, businesses, residential facilities, and homeowners as their recycling partner throughout Tehama County. We care about a cleaner environment and are committed to waste diversion efforts.
Our Commitment To Diversion
To help our customers continue to recycle as much as possible, we’ve developed a comprehensive overview on what you can recycle and how recycling works as well as simple steps you can take to make an impact and increase waste diversion from landfills.

What is Recycling & Why You Should Recycle
Recycling is when certain materials are collected, processed and made reusable. While not all materials can be recycled, most can. Trash & waste generate toxic chemicals and greenhouse gasses from rubbish in landfill sites. Recycling helps the environment by reducing the overall amount of pollution caused by waste, landfills, etc.
How Does Recycling Work?
Green Waste of Tehama collects your recyclables in dumpsters at curbside, at multi-family buildings or at your business. We transport these recyclables to our local sorting facility, known as a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) where they are sorted, cleaned, compressed, and prepared for sale to be repurposed and reused – all the while keeping them out of the landfill.

Clean every item
Clean items are crucial to avoid contamination during transportation.

Waste Collection
When recycle dumpsters are full, they are then collected by Green Waste of Tehama at a curbside, multi-family dwelling, or business.

Materials are sorted and organized by material types, then inspected for final quality control clean-up before being baled (compressed) together and staged for sale to end markets.
